After the success of the first Ma'rifah trip in 2009, the Islamic Cultural Affairs committee (ICA) of CoEJ have organised their second Islamic spiritual retreat in the vibrant city of Marrakech, Morocco.
The retreat is aimed at male participants preferably aged 21+.
The retreat will benefit from two English speaking specialists in the field of Islamic ethics and spirituality who will conduct all the sessions throughout the duration of the retreat. The spiritual guides for this year's retreat will be Shaykh Arif Abdul Hussain and Shaykh Mohammed Al-Hilli.
The retreat will provide the participants:
• Practical lessons on spiritual development based on the Qur'an and the traditions of the Ahlulbayt.
• The opportunity to be taught the theoretical basis of spiritual nurturing from the text of major Islamic mystics.
• The guidance on further reading material to pursue after the retreat.
• The opportunity to visit Morocco's historical and religious sites.
• Time and space in a nurturing environment for self-reflection.
• Participate in "natural"and tranquil recreational activities.
• The opportunity to spend time in absorbing the rich culture that Morocco has to offer.
The retreat is for 6 days and 5 nights from 9 May 2012 to 14 May 2012. Note: Please allow 2 days on either side of the proposed dates for any changes in travel.
Places are limited to a maximum of ONLY 24 participants and the cost of the trip is £329.
