On Sunday 18th October, our respected scholars and Mubaligheen gathered together at Masjid Al-Husayn in Leicester for the ICA annual Mubaligheen conference. The aim was to discuss the principle elements in propagating Islam and to generate ideas on presenting topical issues in our communities. The conference hosted 60 delegates including representatives from Canada and Switzerland as well as executives from the CoEJ and member Jamaats including Dr Husein Jiwa (President elect of CoEJ).

The Chairman of ICA, Al-Hajj Razahusein Rahim welcomed the delegates and speakers and gave a brief overview of projects accomplished and recent developments that have taken place in the Islamic Cultural Affairs Committee.

The Islamic Cultural Affairs committee held their annual Alim/Zakir conference on Sunday 23rd November 2008 at the Zainabiya centre in Milton Keynes . Alhamdulilah over 60 Alims and Zakireen serving our communities in the United Kingdom attended the event. We even had a representative from Canada. The conference had three principle themes the first of which was bringing youth issues to the forefront. This session was lead by Syed Mohamed Naqvi and commenced with an insightful presentation made by Community Youth representatives Sis Mehjabeen Rahim and Br Mohsin Asharia leading to a fruitful debate on current burning issues and how Zakireen can address these from the pulpit and in their interaction with the community. |
On Sunday 4th November 2007, delegates representing seven Jamaats in the UK attended a day conference on self regulation and Alim appraisal. This was organised by the Islamic Cultural Affairs committee of The Council of European Jamaats and was held the Islamic Education office in London.
The key speakers included Br. Yasin Rahim, who using his professional experience was able to vividly present a thorough background on self-regulation, as well as the very important and urgent issues relating to our Mosques and Imams. The participants were taken through the draft MINAB proposals and standards which are to be published at the end of this November 2007. |

Building on the successes of facilitated meetings and seminars, The World Federation brought together the key personnel involved in the MTP face to face for the first time from across the world. A total of 15 people attended the conference from Canada, USA, UK, Syria, Tanzania and Switzerland. The event was held on 26 and 27 August 2007.
