Day 4 Marifah 2012 report

After a night of intense discussion, on a variety of topics including Dua Abu Hamza Thumali and stories of Jinn and humans, we awoke as usual, dreary eyed, for breakfast at 10am. Todays session with Sheikh Hilli focussed on willpower, what hinders it, and how we can strengthen it. It was a very interesting discussion since having strong willpower can really support spiritual development.

The organisers gave us a little treat today allowing us to relax by the pool. Some beach balls were purchased and we had the opportunity to play water polo. For a good hour we dived, swam and threw, giving up any final bits of energy we had left! However this was a great refresher and everyone appreciated that time of relaxation.

After lunch we concluded the overview of the 4 journeys in spiritual wayfaring and left with three vital components in starting this journey, truthfulness, sincerity and humility.The day ended with a majlis to celebrate the birth anniversary of our great lady, Seyyeda Fatemah (A.S), and the celebration continued as we experienced a truly sumptuous Berber style barbecue.

After dinner, we had a discussion on finding out what makes us tick as human beings before having a slightly earlier night than usual because we had to get up early to travel to a coastal town called Essaouira the following day.
