Marifa 2012
Day 2 - Marifah 2012
Day two began with dreary eyes, waking up at 5am for our first dose of spirituality. After each salaah we have been receiving short practical tips, with the first one of day 2 focussing on the importance of fajr time and the recitation of Quran.
Breakfast was served at 9.30am consisting of eggs, bread, cake and some very strong coffee, which was much needed. This was followed by a session with Sheikh Hilli who described the characteristics of people who have Qalbe Saleem, the tranquil heart.
The first three are; sincerity, avoiding excessive food and controlling the speech/tongue. The short talk after Dhuhr Salaah was delivered by Sheikh Arif who briefly enlighte
ned us on the wonderful silent dhikr of 'Lailaha illallah'. After another tasty lunch Sheikh Arif's session continued on from his day 1 introduction, on removing presumptions and approaching spirituality & life with a clean mind.
Following Asr salaah some of the group headed off to Marrakech centre while some chose to relax in the pool at the villa. Once everyone had been reunited at the villa we ended the day with the recitation of dua kumayl, ziyarat e waritha and two sessions by the Sheikhs; one focussing on extracts from the beautiful Dua Abu Hamza Thumali and the second being a discussion on the importance of community within the Islamic context. ![]()
