Birmingham Jamaat Health Screening Project Report
Birmingham Health Screening was carried out on the 6th and 7th of March 2004. The programmed attracted about 230 participants.
On Sunday 7th March 2004, an arrangement was made with the local Birmingham Blood transfusion units to provide two mobile units, one for the ladies and one for the gents at the Mosque premises for blood donation. About 48 pints of blood was collected.
We also had a Diabetic team of doctors and a nurse from Heartlands Hospital Birmingham during the exercise, who carried out a diabetic screening and genetic study on the prevalence of diabetes in Asian population.
Overall the whole exercise was a great success and we record our sincere thanks to the President of Birmingham Jamaat Br. Hussein Mawji, his entire Managing Committee and their Medical Sub Committee for their hearty support and cooperation extended to HIB.
Photographs of the exercise and a further report shall be posted on our web site in due course.
With salaams and duas.

Nibbling on single servings is better than digging your way to the bottom of a megabag of chips. Just don’t bring a whole roll of quarters along during your next snack attack.
