Swine Flu Update - 27 May 2009

The health improvement board of the council of European jamaats has been monitoring the situation in Birmingham and the UK closely and there are now 187 cases in the uk in total 44 of which are in the Birmingham area. This is by far a big escalation in the number of cases since last week but all affected have been treated successfully.

We again stand by our previous advice for prevention which are in the previous updates. We are also working with Birmingham jamaat individually at this time.

Should there be any other localities within our Jamaats which become involved in this escalation, we will inform them individually and update on this website simultaneously.

We appeal to all healthcare professionals in all Jamaats to be vigilant of any news being disseminated via their local health authorities to share it with us via hib@coej.org

We pray to Allah (SWT) to keep us safe and seek the intersession of our Lady Fatima (AS) to protect us from this calamity.
