On Saturday 30 October 2010, approximately 150 anxious and excited hujjaj arrived at Heathrow airport in readiness for the journey of a lifetime. Their call had come. Each one of them had a special invitation from the Creator Himself to visit His House and to renew the vows. This was no ordinary invitation. To be on this list is to be honoured.

Crowds of friends and family gathered at the Departure terminal and the air was filled with happiness coupled with emotion. The scene was exhilarating whilst friends and family were bidding farewell to their relatives and asking each other for forgiveness.

At the airport, the organisation from European Hajj Mission led by EHM Chair,  Ahmed Bhai Dungersi , was conducted as always, with military precision. Passports complete with visas and documents, labels for luggage and colour coded were systematically distributed.

Prior to reaching Medina, there would be 2 stops en route – Cairo and Jeddah.
