Mentor Profile - Nasreen Ramji
Nasreen Ramji was born in 1988 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Her father, Fazleabbas and mother, Nusrat are both from Tanzania. She is the only daughter of her parents. She lived in Dar es Salaam until she was 21 years of age before she married recently and is now settled in Birmingham.
Nasreen attended Al-Muntazir Junior School in Dar es Salaam for her Primary education and undertook a major portion of her Secondary education at Al-Murtaza School in Karachi, Pakistan. She later completed her GCSE’s at Al-Muntazir Islamic Seminary and joined Financial Training Centre in Dar es Salaam, perusing a career in the Accounting world. She is due to sit her final exams for ACCA in a few months time, before she can become a fully qualified accountant.
Her hobbies include reading, painting, photography and art work. She enjoys playing badminton and basketball.
Nasreen has been actively involved in Dar es Salaam and Karachi Jamaat. She has organised a few events for the youths of the community and helped in the organisation of the Blood Donation Camps during Muharram. She volunteered in many Jamaat programs including the Medical Screening Program organised for the community members. Nasreen has also been Badminton Marshal for the Ladies Sports Festival, 2007 in Moshi. She hopes to continue this passion for community service in Birmingham, where she has commenced assisting with the Muhammadi Madrasa.
This will be Nasreen’s first time at the Summer Camp in Sweden, and she will attending in the capacity of Media.
