She has taken part in various fundraising activities for the atrocities in Gaza and Iraq, Tsunami Relief, Breast Cancer and hopes to undertake more sponsored activities this summer.

She is passionate about political history and engaging in the media and current affairs, which are interlinked with being a young British Muslim today. She is part of the COEJ Media Training team and hopes to engage in the realm of media, presenting a positive image of Muslims.

She has currently finished her second year of study in History and Politics at the University of Birmingham and wishes to pursue a career in Education and development.

Her hobbies include: reading, writing poems, voluntary work and working with children. She has been trained as Student Mentor both at school and University, alongside specialising as a “Student Advisor” at the Advice and Representation Centre at the University of Birmingham. She is also a Student tutor in a local Birmingham comprehensive school, as part of the University of Birmingham “Outreach scheme” assisting young adults in their studies and plans for the future.

She is looking forward to meeting the young girls who are attending the Sweden camp, providing support and encouragement.

She has said: “The mentoring scheme will provide me with an extremely valuable experience to further my skills and to help me empower the younger generation, motivating them both at the camp and Insh’Allah, providing them with encouragement to pursue their ambitions and talents for their future. Schemes such as this camp provide a fun and educational approach which engage with the children of our community, who one day will be the future leaders and inheritors, whilst also providing the ‘face’ of British Muslims today”.
