ImageHasnain Panjwani was born in 1985 in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. He comes from a family of three with one younger sister and one younger brother. His secondary schooling was at Southend High School for Boys, where he obtained passes in eleven GCSE subjects. At A-Levels, he took Physics, Maths, Computing, Economics and General Studies, which he completed in 2003 with excellent grades. In 2003, he started a four year degree course in Physics and Space Research at The University of Birmingham and during the fourth year carried out an extended project at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratories in Oxfordshire. At the end of the course he had the opportunity to continue studies in the field of Physics which he accepted and is now well into his first year of a PhD in experimental gravity and weak forces. He regularly recites duas and ziyarat and has also given lectures at his local Jamaat. He is very active in the Birmingham Jamaat, currently the acting chair of the Abbasi Youth Committee.

His association with CoEJ is extensive: along with participating in many of the camps/courses he has been a Sweden Mentor in 2003 and 2005, camp manager in 2006 and compiled/produced the Sweden 2003 magazine.

Currently he is involved in the administration of most CoEJ Education projects and is the overall administrator for this year's Sweden Camp. He is also a team member of the Education Committee of The Council of European Jamaats.

On the hobbies side, he is an avid cricket player, and plays regular matches for a local club. Some of the other sports that he enjoys playing and does so regularly are golf, badminton and tennis.
