Sister Fatima completed her GCSEs in Peterborough, and then went on to study Psychology, Sociology, and Religious Studies at A levels.  She then moved to Leicester and took a gap year in which she decided to travel and take up a part time Arabic course at Leicester University.

Sister Fatima was recently elected as the head of the Behlool Society which has given her the opportunity to work closely with the youths of the community and to organise events, outings, and programmes.  She is also the coordinator of the Leicester branch of the Islamic Human Rights Commission.  She hopes to begin her degree course in International Relations and Media Studies in September.

Sister Fatima states, “Visiting Iran last year for the first time was definitely a life changing experience for me.  There was so much to learn, and things to do, and places to go – the trip was exactly what I had hoped it would be, and more.  InshAllah I hope that this year I will gain much more but through a different role, and that all the new things I learned and experiences I have will help me to fulfil the position I have been chosen for the to the best of my ability, both in Iran and back in England.”
