Sister Anisa has just completed her final year of Law and Business at Birmingham University and will inshallah start work in September as a trainee tax consultant. She is the current vice-chair of the Abbasi Youth Committee of Birmingham Jamaat and has previously taught at the Jamaat Madrasah; hence Anisa is heavily involved in voluntary work within the community. As part of the team delivering the Muballigheen Training Programme, Anisa is the global marketing coordinator for the MTP. After attending the Madinah al-Ilm camp as a student last year, Anisa was motivated to apply as a helper due to the inspirational experiences she gained from her trip in 2007.
Sister Anisa states, "I am extremely excited and overwhelmed at being given the opportunity to go to Iran as a student helper. Alhamdullilah, after my experiences last year, I am able to appreciate the significant role that mentors play and I am particularly looking forward to helping the campers, especially in their spiritual journey towards Allah (SWT). With any trip to Iran, the highlight will surely be the trip to Mashhad, yet every aspect of this course provides one with opportunities to reflect and change. I hope to be able to develop myself and strengthen my own relationship with Allah (SWT) as well."
