Home Boards And Desks Education Madaaris Report of Madaaris Heads Meeting held 26 January 2008
madheadp1260001 The third meeting of Madaaris heads in Europe was held on 28 January hosted by Hujjat Saturday Workshop, Stanmore. The meeting was a continuation of the previous one held in Milton Keynes. The key conclusions from the meeting are listed below however CoEJ Education felt that one major outcome stands out. This is the renewed effort of all the Madaaris heads to move forward unified in their aims and objectives to standardise and better the Madrasah Education in Europe. Conclusions from 26 January Meeting:

1.    Mission Statement - It was agreed that CoEJ Education will use the ideas presented by the participants and consult professionals in order to produce a common Mission Statement for the CoEJ Madaaris.

2.    Guidelines - Upon discussion it was agreed that CoEJ Education should, after reviewing previous guidelines set up, present an updated set for European Madaaris to approve. Once approved this will be the basis for common standards within the community. Furthermore, CoEJ Education will facilitate means of quality assurance for these guidelines.

3.    Central Web Resource - In addition to Madaaris resource, it was requested that tools for continuous electronic teachers training be made available on the site. As this project still needs the input on the community level, it was decided that all Madaaris that has not already done so, should nominate one person to join the Concept Group that discusses the Central Web Resource.

4.    Further suggestions were made to unify and create an enjoyable environment within madrasah for example inter-madaaris quizzes/debates. These will be looked into and a proposal made soon. We would appreciate the input from Madaaris as to what type of competition can be created and if any Madrasah already has outlines for competitions that have been carried out locally please send it to us.
