We have received word from our helpers that all is well and the boys are thoroughly enjoying their stay. They have just finished their first day of classes. They are all staying at madrasah Imam Khomeini and described the atmosphere as 'buzzing'.

A key part of the short course is the outreach that The World Federation makes to members of other communities in helping build capacity within Tableegh throughout the world and enhancing external tableegh. The orientation seminar for the 2008 Iran Summer Courses, Madinah-al-Ilm and Bab-al-Ilm, took place on Saturday the 27th July 2008 at the CoEJ office in Streatham, London. It was an opportunity for the students to meet one another and to have any questions answered by the course organisers. We were joined by the IEB representative Sheikh Abbas Ismail, the CoEJ Education Committee representative Hasnain Ramji and the Qum Office representative Mohammed Yasin Devji(via conference call directly from Qum. The students were briefed on the running of the courses and the background behind the courses. The students also had the chance to meet the mentors going with them on the courses.

Since the first Madinah al-Ilm and Bab al-Ilm summer course in 2004, the courses have become increasingly popular each year.  This year the courses received an unprecedented volume of applications – a staggering 182 applications for 60 places.
