Islamic Art Training Workshops |

The World Federation in partnership with CoEJ is organising Islamic Art training workshops The World Federation and The Council of European Jamaats is organising a 2 day training workshop on Islamic Art on Saturday 26th April and Sunday 27th April 2008. The venue will be Dar al Tableegh. The course is open to women only aged 16 and above and who have a keen interest in art. The fee for the workshop is only £20.00 per person and applicants will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Places are very limited.
Course Objectives:
- Providing participants basic skills in producing Islamic Art
- Introducing participants to a range of materials that may be used in Islamic Art
- Increasing interest in Islamic Art
- Exploring ways in which participants can increase their creative skills
Insha'allah the course will use the following materials:
- Wall Hangings - ceramic tiles with backgrounds painted in vibrant colours & Quranic ayats painted over in a stain glass technique
- Clay pots painted with coloured inks & Islamic word
- Wall Plates with a decorative design worked all over in cold ceramic technique & the word 'Allah' cut out in a clay like material
- Glass table-top pieces with the word 'Allah' painted in stain glass technique & decorated with beads
The course will be conducted by sister Salva Imran Rasool of India. Sister Salva graduated in Applied Arts from the Sir J.J. School of Arts in Mumbai. She initially undertook assignments for the advertising industry and also involved herself with pottery and ceramics as a hobby. Some of sister Salva's artistic achievements: How to apply:
