MCB issues Statement in Support of Hijab |

The Muslim Council of Britain has issued a statement of support and encouragement for our sisters who have been blessed with the tawfeeq to wear the Hijab and our brothers who keep beards. The World Federation firmly supports the Muslim Council of Britain's statement on Hijab.
The statement clearly states that the observance of the Hijab for women and the keeping of a beard for men is a religious command as understood by the Quran and Seerat of the Ahlul Bayt (AS). The statement urges us not to be scared into changing our Islamic appearance for the sake of bigoted and racist elements in our society. The statement praises the courage and steadfastness of the believers who maintain their outward appearances in line with the commandments of the Shariah. The Holy Qur'an (49:15) states,
"The faithful are only those who have attained faith in Allah and His apostle and then have never doubted, and who struggle with their possessions and their persons in the way of Allah - it is they who are the truthful."
