Leadership Training and Development |
|
The Muslim Council of Britain would like, along with the Southgate and District Reform Synagogue, can provide training and development opportunities to lthose who are leaders, in the volunteering development, communications and project management of different faiths. Particularly, young leaders of groups in Enfield and Barnet.
The training will be provided by The Grubb Institute, a Christian based organisation, with an established record of leadership development in business, the voluntary sector, health and social care and faith-based organisations. It will take place on 2 Sundays, 21st January and 11th February 2007.
The programme will be offered initially through two three hour workshops:
- introducing a straightforward way of understanding the differences between leadership, management and administration
- exploring experiences of successful leadership
- discovering how to invite people to volunteer
- developing guidelines for decision making
- understanding the importance of communication
Whilst the programme will focus on members of faith communities, what is learnt will have application to other areas of participants' lives.
There will be an opportunity for up to 15 participants who wish to do so, to follow up these initial workshops with individually tailored leadership programmes, to support them in particular responsibilities, projects and tasks, including further reading, practice assignments and coaching.
Alongside the Leadership Development Programme, Southgate and District Synagogue is also seeking to develop a community/social action programme between the faith communities as a way of engaging with those in their 20's and 30's, who are likely to become future leaders.
