Conference on Health at Hajj & Umrah |
|
20th October 2006 Dear Colleague, It gives me great pleasure to invite you to a special conference, Health at Hajj and Umrah on Thursday, 16 November 2006 at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London. The influx of a large population within a confined area over a short period provides conditions that favour the spread of communicable diseases, particularly respiratory infections. This one-day conference, organised by the Muslim Council of Britain and the Health Protection Agency together with Queen Mary University London, provides an opportunity to hear and meet recognised experts from Saudi Arabia, Australia, Singapore and the UK and to share experiences and information on providing effective health advice /support for people travelling for the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
The conference is a must for:
- Specialist tour operators,
- Community group leaders involved in organising travel for the pilgrimates,
- Public health and health protection specialists,
- Infectious disease physicians,
- Microbiologists,
- General Practitioners and healthcare professionals with an interest in travel health
- Travel health / immunisation clinic personnel &
- PCT staff
Attendance is free but places are limited so please book your place early. Please visit http://www.hpa-events.org.uk/Hajj to book your place online - this is the only method of registration.
