Eid Al Ghadeer and Eid al Mubahala Poetry Competition E-mail

To celebrate the auspicious events of Eid Al-Ghadeer & Eid Al-Mubahala, a poetry competition with prizes worth more than £175.00 is being held.

The organisations behind this initiative are Bonat Al Mustaqbul, Cricklewood Youth Club, Haraka Al Hayderia, Hyderi Youth, Islamic Centre of England, Noor Youth and Stanmore Jaffary's.

The winning poems will be announced at a Conference that will be held on Sunday 14th January 2007 at the Islamic Centre of England.

Conditions of Entry:
1. Poems must be no more than 250 words excluding the title.
2. They must be written in ENGLISH and must be original work of the entrant.
3. The celebratory themes  of the poem must be about one or more of the following:
 - Eid Al- Ghadeer
 - Eid Al-Mubahala
 - Wilaya
 - Ahlul-Bayt

5. Deadline for submissions is midnight Monday 8th January 2007.

Guest speakers at the conference include Sayed Ammar Nakshawani, Sheikh Mohammad Shomali, Brother Ahmed Twaij and Hajj Hasanain Rajabali.  Further details of the event are to folow.

Prizes will be as follows:

First Prize:£100.00 plus recitation and publication
Runner-up: £50.00
Third Prize: £25.00
