 Ghalib Sheikh Ghalib Sheikh was born in 1988 in Gillingham, Kent, in UK. His parents are both originally from Nairobi, Kenya. His father, Talib moved to the UK in 1982, and his mother Tabasam, moved to the UK at a very young age in 1965. They married in 1983. Ghalib is the middle son with two other sisters. The family is settled in Harrow, London.
He completed his secondary schooling at Longford Community School, where he obtained thirteen GCSE passes subjects and is currently doing AS-Levels in Business, ICT and English Literature at Hatch End High School in Harrow. He is also studying for the GCSE Islamic Studies.
His madressa education was first at the Hyderi madressa, and when the family moved to the north, he joined the Hujjat Saturday Workshop. After finishing his studies here, he was trained to become a teacher at the Workshop, first as an Assistant Teacher, and now as an experienced teacher, teaching boys of varying ages. Ghalib has represented and volunteered for his school in organizing and preparing for social and charity events. He has assisted in preparing and assessing pupils read and write English at his local school. In 2002, he attended the Sweden Camp as a camper, and is now returning as a Mentor. In his spare time, he enjoys computers and electronics, keeping fit, and travelling abroad. |
