The Sweden camp spares no expenses and places great priority and effort in providing, planning a variety of sports. A detailed and extensive timetable of sports is meticulously and painstakingly prepared by the Mentors. The camp takes great care in ensuring that all Planets participate in each activity. Mentors are in charge of different sports, choosing the ones they excel in. The Mentors then organise friendly games as well as tournaments in order to create an aura of competition to bring the best out of all the campers.
The Mentors pass on their skills to the Campers, and instil an ethic of teamwork, leadership and co-operation. Campers are also encouraged to try new sports, emphasis and encouragement is placed on the need to diversify and not just to stick to their favourite pass times. To add flavour, tournaments are also organised against Mentors, Lecturers and even the Admin!
A variety of exciting sports are covered - football, beach volleyball, cricket, table tennis, tube skiing, canoeing, crazy golfing, crate stacking, ropes course, swimming. The board games like karem and Uno are are also included; but are usually only saved for the odd rainy day. |
