Sweden 2006 - Blog
This is the first blog entry from me, as part of the Administration Team for the Sweden camp. I am going to be administrating the UK part of the camp, when you, campers will be enjoying yourself in the picturesque camp site in Sweden. So you can tell you parents, if they want anything, then can contact Shabbar Uncle, who will be in London but in touch with the administrators in Sweden.

Alhamdillah, the sports timetable has now been finalised. This is the final version of the timetable, which began its drafting since the end of the last camp in August 2006. Fazleabbas Bha has been tweaking the timetable with all the other camp administrators and it has now reached its final stage; ready to be put in practice in just over a month now.

We have taken great care in coming up this timetable to ensure that you as campers have an opportunity to take part in all the sports on offer and at the same time playing against your fellow campers in a tournament. There is a variety of sports that will take place from football, cricket, basketball, table-tennis and others, which I will leave as out for today and keep it as  surprise until your arrival at the campsite. But here’ s a hint, I am reliably informed that Lidl are going to have fantastic offers on Monday with beach shoes and sandals for only £2.99,  shoes for swimming and for walks on pebbles and rocks as well as swimming goggles for £2.99 . So let the shopping begins………these are not essential items for the camp but could be useful.

Your mentors will be in-charge of every sport that will be available, choosing the ones they excel in. They should be able pass on their skills to you (or maybe some of you to them!) whilst at the same time working through the ethic of teamwork, leadership and co-operation.

The timetable has been carefully balanced with enough refreshment breaks for chilling and eating delicious fresh doughnuts and Swedish sweets. However, keeping in line with the balance at the camp, there are also fresh fruits every afternoon, just like the ones you see in Professional football locker rooms!

That’s all from me today, back to looking for presents for the prizes as winners of the various sports tournament !

With salaams,

Shabbar Dhalla
