World Federation ASGs meet with CoEJ Secretary General - Leicester, UK |

The Assistant Secretary Generals of The World Federation met with the Secretary General of The Council of European Jamaats (CoEJ) Shabbar Dhalla on Saturday 10 November 2007. The aim of the meeting was to review the process of handing over projects by The World Federation to CoEJ, carry on with best practices and highlight way of future working in light of any challenges foreseen. This is in light of the resolution that was passed in Dubai at the 2006 WF Conference, which involved devolving responsibility by The World Federation to the Regional Federations for implementation.

CoEJ SG Shabbar had the following to say: “The meeting allowed the opportunity to explore what was going well and what we would build upon together for an effective handover process”.
WF Assistant Secretary General for Family Affairs Shamim Abidi said: “It was indeed very encouraging to discuss how well the devolving of responsibilities to CoEJ is progressing through some of the examples that were shared at the meeting. We are now looking forward to more future working and capacity building in this region.”
